Interactive Photobook

I made an interactive book with the hopes of starting a conversation on how there are varying degrees of visual impairment, and how braille documentation does not have to be devoid of visual creativity. It's inspired by slide negatives. It is composed of a handmade slide holder of about 5 feet long, 18 large slides which half are translucent color photographs and the other half are hand made braille inscriptions. This book is usually presented with a light box or table.

Materials: Polyethylene, matte boards, acrylic sheets, inkjet prints on translucent photo paper.

The handmade colored slides depict places and spaces I encounter in my everyday life. This does not represent what my eyesight is, but rather a broad definition of low vision.

The slides with the braille each have a small sentence describing low vision. This one  spells out Hazy Perception
